Katie Brandes is a Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT) and an experienced registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500). She is also a registered children’s yoga teacher (RCYT) and a registered prenatal yoga teacher (RPYT) through Yoga Alliance. Katie began yoga in 2005 after experiencing extreme anxiety brought on by stress. She sought yoga as a means of relief and instead found a new way of life. After completing her first 200-hour yoga certification in Orlando, Katie immediately sought out more training. Katie has now trained thousands of hours in Hatha Yoga, Kids Yoga, Chair Yoga, Senior Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Laughter Yoga, Yoga for Trauma, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Cancer, and Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis. For 3 years, she trained an additional 1000 hours in Amy Wheeler’s Optimal State Yoga Therapy program where she graduated as a Certified Yoga Therapist.

Katie is a self-described Yoga Anatomy “Enthusiast”, and her interest in Anatomy lead her to become certified as a Massage Therapist. She is also certified in Thai Bodywork, a passion of hers that combines both Yoga and Massage Therapy into a whole-body treatment.

She resides in Gainesville, FL with her husband and daughter. She is a mother first and foremost. But Yoga is her passion. When she isn’t spending time with family, you will find her studying Yoga, creating art or doing graphic & web design.
